Safari Club International (SCI) is the only pro-hunting organization with an office in Washington, D.C. that has full-time policy experts, in-house legal counsel and staffed with experts dedicated to protecting hunting everywhere.

The Hunter Advocacy Action Center (HAAC) is a revolutionary software program that enables SCI members and outdoorsmen to impact legislative issues like never before. Through the HAAC, SCI’s Government Affairs staff connect SCI members directly to elected officials at the state and federal level, enabling engagement in public comment submissions and petitions related to issues that directly affect them, such as trophy import bans, expanding hunting access, and second amendment issues. Through the HAAC, SCI members have made thousands of direct connections with state and federal legislators, ensuring their voice is heard in the political process.

The ATA was founded in 1900 as the American Trapshooting Association and later changed to the Amateur Trapshooting Association in 1923. A Board of Directors, composed of state and provincial delegates govern all ATA policy matters. The Executive Committee, which is comprised of one representative from each of the five Zones, provides stewardship for the association throughout the year. The organization’s day-to-day business is guided by an Executive Director and a team of professionals at the national headquarters in Sparta, IL.

About the Hall of Fame Museum

From 1900 to 1923 the Grand American Trapshooting Tournament was held at various places throughout the United States. In 1924, discount a permanent clubhouse and trap line were constructed by the association on land purchased by the Amateur Trapshooting Association in Vandalia, Ohio.

The Hall of Fame (HOF) was founded in 1968 and held its first induction banquet in 1969. Its purpose is to preserve the history and artifacts of trapshooting and to honor outstanding persons in the sport.

Hall of Fame candidates are selected from two groups: Persons whose efforts have made significant contributions to the growth and betterment of trapshooting, and participants who have made impressive records in trapshooting. Candidates are eligible for selection after 20 years of participation in the sport.

The National Shooting Complex is one of the premier shooting facilities in the world, spanning 671 acres of San Antonio countryside. As the headquarters for the National Skeet Shooting Association and National Sporting Clays Association, it hosts elite tournaments for both sports, including the World Skeet Championships and National Sporting Clays Championship. In addition, it is the venue for a wide range of shooting and non-shooting events for thousands of serious competitors, casual shooters, and outdoors enthusiasts each year.

In 1966, the federation had 43 affiliated national groups, which represented 40 countries from four continents. Collaboration between FITASC and UIT continued until 1969, in accordance with the 1952 agreement. From then on, the UIT was entrusted with both Olympic disciplines on a permanent basis. The dedication to trying to bring both organisations closer together was further boosted by a new agreement in 1981, spurred on by their presidents MM. Olegario Vasquez-Ranaof from the UIT and Pierre Etienne Guyot of FITASC.

Lasting links of co-operation were thus established for the benefit of all followers of the disciplines of shooting with hunting shotguns. Thus the agreement of 1981 ensured perfect harmony between the organizations in charge of, on the one hand Olympic disciplines, and on the Other hand, those overseeing non Olympic disciplines. In the years that followed, FITASC developed other clay target shooting sporting disciplines: Firstly, Universal Trench (trench with 5 machines), then Sporting, Shooting with the Helice (ZZ) and finally Compak Sporting, whilst continuing the sport of the live pigeon shooting which dated back to 1921.
